Marc Prensky
 

Marc Prensky is an internationally acclaimed writer and speaker on computer games and learning. He is the author of the book Digital Game-Based Learning (McGraw-Hill, 2001) and the founder and CEO of Games2train.

Marc has created over 50 software games, including games2train products, custom business training games and financial trading games. His creations Straight Shooter! and The Monkey Wrench Conspiracy are the world's first fast-action videogame based training tools. Knowledge Tournament, his multi-player, multi-team on-line training game, allows employees from around the world to compete. His clients have included The Harvard Business School, The Boston Consulting Group, IBM, Bank of America, Nortel Networks, Avon, Estee Lauder, JP Morgan Chase, Nokia, The U.S. Department of Defense and the LA and Florida Virtual Schools.

Marc has been featured in articles in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Fortune Small Business, Fast Company and many other industry and learning magazines. He has been seen and heard on television and radio on CNN, MSNBC, PBS, NPR and several non-US stations, including the BBC. In 2000 Marc was named as one of training’s top "New Breed of Visionaries” by Training magazine.

Marc’s educational background includes degrees from Oberlin, Yale, the Middlebury Program in France, and The Harvard Business School. He spent six years as a corporate strategist and product development director with the Boston Consulting Group. He has taught at all levels from elementary to college. He is also a concert musician (lute and classical guitar) and has acted on Broadway.
